Awards and Appointments

HCFO grantee, Randall S. Brown, Ph.D., vice president, and colleagues at Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., received the AcademyHealth 2009 HSR Impact Award for their Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded evaluation of the Medicaid Cash & Counseling program.

HCFO grantee, Mythreyi Bhargavan, Ph.D., director of research at the American College of Radiology, was elected to serve on the council of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP).

HCFO grantee, David Blumenthal, M.D., was selected by the Obama Administration to serve as the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. In this role, Dr. Blumenthal will spearhead efforts to implement a national health information technology (HIT) infrastructure as stipulated in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
