The article, “What Does it Cost Physician Practices to Interact with Health Insurance Plans?” by Lawrence P. Casalino, Ph.D., chief of the Division of Outcomes and Effectiveness Research at Weill Cornell Medical College, and colleagues was voted one of the top five most influential articles funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation [1] in 2009 by individuals who voted for more than three articles. This article highlights findings from a HCFO study that examined the administrative burden associated with physician practices' interactions with health plans.
