PrintNew Release: 2010 National Survey of Residential Care Facilities - Public Use Data Files and Documentation/Data Product
The Division of Health Care Statistics (DHCS) in the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) announces the internet release of two data products from the 2010 National Survey of Residential Care Facilities (NSRCF):
- Facility and Resident Public-Use Data Files and Documentation
- Data Brief No. 78─Residential Care Facilities: A Key Sector in the Spectrum of Long-Term Care Providers in the United States: 2010
2010 NSRCF—the first-ever national probability sample survey of residential care facilities with four or more beds—collected data on residential care providers, their staffs and services, and their current residents. Interviews were completed with 2,302 facilities, and data were collected on 8,094 sampled residents. Residents were not interviewed.
The 2010 NSRCF Facility and Resident Public-Use Files are available from the NSRCF website: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nsrcf/nsrcf_questionnaires.htm. Accompanying documentation materials are provided for each public-use file, including data dictionaries, readme files, and lists of restricted variables. Users wishing to access these restricted variables need to contact the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) Research Data Center (http://www.cdc.gov/rdc/index.htm). In addition, the survey methodology and documentation overview briefly describes the survey, sampling design, sampling frame, scope of survey, data collection procedures, estimation procedures, and reliability of estimates.
