Findings from a study led by Alison Galbraith, M.D., assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Institute, were highlighted on "Of Interest," the healthcare finance blog of Modern Healthcare. The blog post by Melanie Evans reported Galbraith's finding that combined health expenses begin to strain family budgets at three percent of household income when one family member has a chronic condition. These findings are relevant to policymakers as they seek to define "affordable" health benefits in the context of the Affordable Care Act.
